What is the cause of this nasty blockage?
When Oil mist from the crank case ventilation system mixes with the exhaust gas recirculation, fumes are produced. This attaches to the walls of the intake manifold. These build up over time severely restricting the airflow which blocks the intake manifold and valves, causing reduced performance.
Between 50-300mls of fluid is leaked straight into the engine in only 10'000kms. This can be prevented with a provent catch can.
